Day 1. Zanzibar
For centuries past, cardamom, clove and cinnamon culled from the fabled spice gardens of the enchanted island of Zanzibar have been prized by sultans and princes alike.
Now you can pick them for yourself on a spice tour that takes you from the winding alleys, carved doors and cool courtyards of Stone Town, through the slave caches of the coral bays, past the blue-domed bath-houses of long dead sultans and out onto the silver and blue ribbons of Zanzibar’s perfect beaches.
To enter the world of Zanzibar is to step through the looking glass into the world of a thousand and one nights and black eyes that smile from behind deep veils. There’s a House of Wonders and a street of food, a Palace Museum, an ancient slave market, an age-old fort, a ruined harem and the house where Dr Livingstone once lived.
There are Red Colobus Monkeys and dolphins and a bright tapestry of Arab, African and Swahili culture, folklore and cuisine that are as mesmeric as myth.
You’ll be met by our representative and transferred to your all inclusive Baraza Zanzibar
Baraza Resort & Spa is Zanzibar’s most exclusive boutique resort. With just 30 villas, this stunning fully inclusive resort evokes the heritage of Zanzibar dating back to the era of the Sultans.
A fusion of Arabic, Swahili and Indian design, with Swahili arches, intricate hand carved cement décor, beautiful antiques, handmade furniture and intricate brass lanterns; Baraza offers unparalleled standards of luxury on the Island of Zanzibar. Overnight in the hotel voted No.1 in Africa

Day 3. Karatu
Karatu is a small dusty town in the Northern Highlands of Tanzania. Set prettily on the outskirts south of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, transfer to Zanzibar airport for your scheduled flight to Manyara. You’ll be met on arrival by 4×4 vehicle and guide and transferred to your lodge in Karatu followed by lunch. Afternoon spent at leisure followed by dinner and overnight at Kitela Lodge.
Kitela Lodge is a small, exclusive lodge situated on top of a valley overlooking a coffee plantation, the Eastern wall of the Ngorongoro crater and a beautiful waterfall. It consists of 20 spacious suites in cottages built in the style of an old colonial farm offering guests a relaxing, quiet atmosphere surrounded by beautiful gardens and its own pool.
Ngorongoro Crater
The jewel in Ngorongoro’s crown is the deep, volcanic crater, the largest un-flooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20 kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq kms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder replete with wildlife. This protected area is located in the Great Rift Valley. The Crater actually is a gigantic fracture of the earth’s crust. The magnificent landscape consists of volcanoes, mountains, plains, lakes, forests and archaeological sites. At 1600 meters altitude the bottom of the Crater, dotted with watering holes, offers shelter to almost 30.000 animals in an area naturally enclosed by the slopes of the volcano. The Crater elephants are strangely, mainly bulls. There is a small number of black rhino. The bird life is largely seasonal and is also affected by the ratio of soda and fresh water on the Crater floor.
Day 4. Karatu
Today after early breakfast, descend to the crater floor for a day in the Ngorongoro Crater in a 6 Seater 4×4. You’ll explore and discover lions, elephants, zebra, hippo, buffalos, and rhino. Your picnic lunch will be on the crater floor. After an exciting day of safari, you’ll return to the lodge early for dinner and overnight at Kitela Lodge.

Day 5. Serengeti
The Serengeti
The name comes from the Maasai word “siringet” meaning ‘endless plain’. This 14,763sq. kms. park encompasses lakes, savannah grassland, wooded hills, rivers, swamps, and volcanic massifs. Due to this diverse ecosystem it is undoubtedly one of the world’s last great wildlife refuges.
Serengeti is home to over 2 million wildebeest, half a million Thomson’s gazelle, and a quarter of a million zebra, giraffe, eland, topi, kongoni, impala and other antelope. The predators are also well represented by lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena. In total, there are nearly 35 species of savannah animals and almost 500 species of birds including lilac-breasted rollers, barbets, and ring-necked doves living in this animal kingdom.
After breakfast, transfer to the local airstrip for your scheduled flight to Seronera. You’ll be met by your camp representative and enjoy shared game activities with all meals and overnight at Namiri Plains Camp.
Namiri Plains Camp combines traditional bush style with a fresh modern feel and highly personalised service. Day 11. Masai Mara
The Masai Mara
Justifiably one of the most famous reserves in Africa, its dominant features are the great rolling plains of savannah grasslands, which sustain the greatest variety of wildlife in Africa and indeed in the world. The concentration of game is at its highest from July through October when the Mara is host to the annual migration of more than a million wildebeest.
However, game viewing is excellent year-round with giraffe, buffalo, zebra, eland, hartebeest and Thompson’s gazelle offering a rich choice for the predators – lion, leopard and cheetah.
The Maasai people, after whom the park is named, are nomadic.
While on game drives, you will often notice young tribesmen herding their cattle amongst the plains game. They are colourfully attired, usually wrapped in bright red cloths, and armed with spears.
After an early breakfast, transfer to the local airstrip for your scheduled flight to Masai Mara via Tarime. Upon arrival you’ll be transferred across the border where you will clear customs and immigration before being dropped off at migori airstrip for your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. Mara Plains Camp
Mara Plains Camp is located on a bend in the Ntiakitiak River in the heart of the Olare Motorogi Conservancy which abuts Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve to its south. It’s a small, high quality, seven-roomed camp under canvas with sweeping views across Kenya’s notable savannahs.
The camp caters for only 14 guests in seven uniquely designed octagonal canvas rooms. Each is raised on decks and opens on three sides to the outside. The rooms have a dressing area as well as en-suite facilities, private verandahs with seating and exquisite views. The decor pays homage to the essence of East Africa and its chief influences – Masai and Arab culture.
